Martin Kopf leads European General Galvanizers Association
The European General Galvanizers Association has elected Martin Kopf as its new President. He follows outgoing president Jeremy Woolridge of Wedge Group.
"For me, it is a great honor being elected for the next three years," says the 51-year-old, adding: "I am proud to be able to follow the footsteps of Prof. Heinz Bablik in two respects." He was founder of the EGGA and was appointed as its first president in 1955. Together with his brother Dr. Hans Bablik, he founded the "Brunner Verzinkerei Brüder Bablik" in 1926. Today the company is well known as ZINKPOWER Brunn and Martin Kopf is the CEO of this site.
EGGA comprises 15 member national associations that represent the industry in 22 countries. EGGA monitors and responds to issues affecting the general galvanizing industry in Europe, in particular environmental, technical and regulatory matters. EGGA also provides a platform for coordination of marketing and other initiatives for the industry. The industry will provide sustainable corrosion protection for over 6 million tonnes of steel products in 2017.
In addition to the function as President of EGGA Martin Kopf also supports the German Galvanizers Assosiation “Industrieverband Feuerverzinken” as CEO.
