Socially Commited

We not only talk about responsibility, we take responsibility:

Each year, we are involved in numerous social projects in the local environment of our plants. Their emphasis is mainly on promoting children who are reliant on support to obtain equal opportunities in education and participate in a social life.

Following two examples

CASA Hope for Children

ZINKPOWER USA hosted a table at the CASA Gala as a sponsor of the event. CASAHope4Children recruits, trains, and supports volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) to advocate for the best interest of children and empowers families involved in the child welfare system. It is a nationwide program and funds raised are used to support the local CASA Weatherford office. Attending this event on ZINKPOWER-USA’s behalf includes Wayne Hennecke, Russell Wallace, Janay Pendley, and Tim Pendley.

Janay Pendley was a volunteer member of CASA for 10 years. This volunteer work is crucial to ensuring that children in need have external advocates that will speak on their behalf when needed. Volunteers receive cases from the CASA organization, and it is their job to keep in contact with the children, their families, judges, lawyers, doctors, schools, social services, and any other services to make sure that the children are being taken care of during difficult times. The goal of this work is to hopefully reunite children with their original families. However, when this is not possible, these hard-working volunteers stay in contact with the children and work with social services to help find the children a stable family who can adopt them. Thank you CASA for all of your efforts in helping children in need!

Grace House Ministries Pregnancy Center

ZINKPOWER USA recently joined in supporting Grace House Ministries, a local Pregnancy Center in Weatherford, Texas. Employees from the USA division pulled together to donate diapers, baby wipes, and gift cards to the local organization. Grace House Ministries serves as a safe and welcoming place for individuals facing unplanned pregnancies, offering free pregnancy tests, counseling, parenting classes, and material assistance. Donations of baby diapers and wipes are particularly crucial, as they are essential items for new parents and can be costly for those facing financial difficulties.

Waco Down Syndrom Organization

The Texas Waco Down Syndrome Organization hosts an annual walk to raise awareness for Down Syndrome as well as celebrate the lives and value of children with Down Syndrome. Funds raised are used to provide activities, scholarships, and support for the families. This celebration and resource fair included food trucks and fun with face painting, dancing, and games while also providing valuable information for families wanting to learn how to get help where needed. ZINKPOWER-USA was an official sponsor of the event with Tim Pendley, Janay Pendley, and Evan Randall participating in the celebration.

Down Syndrome is a genetic condition in which children are born with an extra chromosome. This condition changes the child's brain and body development, making their lifestyle unique, yet capable of living as active participants in education, social, and recreational activities. Most people with Down Syndrome have a mild to moderate cognitive or intellectual disability. This is not indicative of the many strengths and talents they individual possess.
