Sakura residence
A particularly striking façade design has been admired in the north of Vienna since the start of 2016.
The 3,000 sq m perforated metal façade with cherry blossom pattern screens apartments from the road and also helps to prevent slipping when the leaves fall. The cherry blossom pattern (translated as Sakura in Japanese) was drawn hole by hole by AutoCad on the 380 individual perforated panels. A delicate pattern was produced from the four centimetre large square holes.
The steel plates, as well as the substructure, was hot-dip galvanized at ZINKPOWER Coating Wiener Neustadt and the façade panels were powder coated in RAL 9006 (white aluminium) to provide them with weather resistance.
