Autocity Volkswagen, Wolfsburg

The world-wide unique Car City of Volkswagen group has opened in Wolfsburg. On an area of 25 ha a special event- and competence center is presented to its visitors. The main attractions are two Car Towers that raise to the sky some 50 meters and shine in the spotlight at night. Not only measured by its visual design, but also by the technical one the building is a daring draft.

Each of the towers has 20 floors with an area of 760 m². 475 tons of steel have been used for their construction. To reliably protect the steel construction against corrosion all parts have been hot dip galvanized by OTC Oberflächentechnik Calbe. Subsequently a duplex-coating has been applied. This guarantees an economical protection against corrosion that will last for decades.
